A striped caterpillar I found on the parsley may be the culprit who has chewed holes in the leaves of the pepper plants. All but the base of a small romaine disappeared. For that I blame a cottontail who lives on the property. Some portions of the grape tomato have succumbed to blight.

Every living thing faces a battle to survive. All that we value, living or not, requires protection and care. At creation, this was not the case. Satan’s rebellion combined with the wrong choices of man are responsible for this turn-around from what could have always been ours.

The good news is the fight is fixed in our favour! It’s not over. Circumstances do come against us. The enemy throws another punch we have to ward off. Whether he strikes relationships, health or finances, all of these are temporal. He wants us to think a difficulty will not change, but when our trust is in God nothing is impossible. (Luke 1:37)

Israel had no hope of overcoming the Midianites. God enabled Gideon to rout that nation with only 300 men. (Judges 7:7) Time and again we read of God delivering His people from situations that man alone could never overcome. The God we serve is the same today and we have His Word. In Christ we will always triumph! (II Corinthians 2:14)

The Apostle Paul said all of creation longs for the people of God to step into the victory the Lord Jesus secured for mankind on the cross. (Romans 8:19-21) Every one and every thing has suffered since man listened to the lies of the enemy. We don’t have to be deceived. We have God’s Truth in writing. Regardless of how battered we may seem to be at times, when the final countdown comes, Satan has been defeated. We win! (Revelation 12:10)

  1. All things are possible with God and we’re not alone in the trenches. A great reminder, Mary. Today I’m going to behave like a winner.

  2. “The good news is the fight is fixed in our favour.” I’m going to remind myself of that today. Thanks for what you wrote, Mary. God bless you in your studies.

  3. YES! Such a good reminder Mary. If we look at the disasters throughout the whole world, because of man’s rebellion we can become discouraged. But praise the God of our salvation for His promises which are forever true.

  4. AMEN & Thank you Mary for reminding us of our victory!!!!!! satan, circumstances, etc…come to distract, But God!! Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off Everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Pioneer & Perfecter of our faith (the Cause & Completer, the Guide & End, the Leader & Example, the Source & Goal, the Author & Finisher-the first incentive for our belief & the One who brings our faith to maturity) – Jesus, on whom faith depends from start to finish…(Heb. 11 & 12:1-3)
